COLUMBIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AWARDS CRITERIA
CHAMBER MEMBER OF THE YEAR The Chamber Member of the Year Award will be presented annually to the member or member’s representative who has demonstrated over the past year their abilities in the following categories: active participation in Chamber activities, active participation in community projects, actions ensuring the continued viability of the Chamber, and support of Chamber goals.
ELIGIBILITY: Any member who has exhibited the most to improve or assist the Chamber’s operation over the last year.
CRITERIA: 1)Active participation in Chamber activities 2)Promoting membership and active involvements. 3)Contributes talents to enhance Chamber programs 4)Over the past year has made significant impact in fulfilling the chambers goals and improving its operations.
VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD (1 for Adult and 1 for Student) Presented for time and efforts devoted to specific community service that has a positive impact upon many citizens of Lorain County.
CRITERIA: 1)Devotes relentlessly their time, efforts, and talents towards community service. 2)Must enhance the quality of life for the citizens of our community. 3)Award to be presented to a family. 4)Chamber membership not required.
BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD The Business of the Year Award will be presented to a business that has demonstrated upwards trends in its employment and production. Further, it has exhibited the true meaning of community spirit, cooperation and civic activities while encouraging its own personnel’s involvement.
ELIGIBILITY: Any member providing sales of goods and services for profit.
CRITERIA: 1)Must be an active member of the Chamber. 2)The business must be a good citizen of the community, is active in supporting charitable and civic events, and encourages its personnel to be active within the community. 3)Business has exhibited a substantial history as a successful establishment 4)Business continues to provide stable opportunities for it employment. 5)The value of their citizenship should be relative to their resources. 6)Operates as a competitive and highly ethical business.
EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD Each year the Chamber recognizes one individual that has made an outstanding contribution to the community through education. The recipient of this award performs a key function in providing an opportunity for the youth of today to become the leaders of tomorrow.
ELIGIBILITY: A professional recognized in the field of education that has made a significant contribution through education to improve the Lorain County community.
CRITERIA: 1)Dedicated and committed to educational profession and the Lorain County community. 2)Competent and resourceful in providing strong ties between education and the business community. 3)Generally recognized by his/her colleagues as an outstanding contributor to the field of education. 4)Respected by students and peers. 5)Chamber membership not required.
